Soft tissue injuries, decreasing molecular tissue mass, decreased hyaluronic acid levels, or signs of osteoarthritis may cause pain and general deterioration of body functions. So far, the tear / ligaments or the end of the joints, we have almost all been on the operating table. For our body, any intervention (surgery, admission of a foreign body (in the case of prosthetics), anesthesia, long healing process) is a huge load that affects the immune system and the whole organism together. With medical advances every day, today we can offer a revolutionary alternative - a patented platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and hyaluronic acid procedure - the Cellular Matrix.

Why PRP?

PRP procedures are most widely used in dermatology. Due to the origin of the organic procedure, the high tolerance rate and the excellent effect, PRP injections have already crossed the boundaries of aesthetic medicine. Therefore, gynecologists and surgeons successfully use platelet-rich plasma injections. This is a reasonable, revolutionary approach that will change the approach to the outcomes of some orthopedic diseases, significantly reducing (or even eliminating) chronic soft / hard tissue pain.

What is the difference between Cellular Matrix and normal PRP injection?

Cellular Matrix is a patented technology of the international laboratory RegenLab, which has all the characteristics of PRP but is additionally enriched with hyaluronic acid. This acid is part of the synovial fluid (lubricates the joints, supplies nutrients to the cartilage and oxygen). The powerful synergy between good autologous blood cells and hyaluronic acid works in two ways: hydrates and regenerates damaged tissues. Natural growth factors (PDGF, TGF-8, IGF, EGF, VEGF, FGF) promote the healing process. By mixing PRP and HA (hyaluron) together, the pain is reduced more effectively.

Indications for treatment

Because the Cellular Matrix technology is of natural origin, it is multifunctional. The main indications are:

  • Treatment of signs of osteoarthritis. At 1-2 stages of the disease there is a good chance of curing the disease altogether. In steps 3-4, CM therapy acts as an effective pain relieving procedure.
  • To relieve pain in the knee, hip, spine, ankle joint, improve movement, cell regeneration.
  • Reduction of soft and hard tissue inflammatory processes;
  • After trauma to accelerate the healing process of ruptured tendons and ankles.
  • For the treatment of pathologies of some small joints.
  • How is this procedure performed?

Your doctor will unpack a sterile Cellular Matrix kit that already contains:

2 ml of natural hyaluronic acid (non-cross-linked, fermented);
Separation gel (this special gel separates the useless blood from the centrifugation process, leaving only platelet-enriched plasma);
Anticoagulant (blood clotting regulator).

The patient's vein is taken with 4 ml of blood and filled with a Cellular Matrix tube. It is placed in a special centrifuge, where the blood plasma and platelets are separated from the red blood cells in this case for 5 minutes. When removed from the centrifuge, all layers of components are clearly visible: red blood cells, separation gel, plasma, platelet aggregation and hyaluronic acid. Use the tube in the hands to mix PRP and hyaluronic acid. After receiving a solid mass, the doctor pulls it out with a syringe and injects it into the problematic part of the body. The CM injection procedure itself is no different from the standard injectable drugs or vitamins, so anesthesia is not necessary. However, each patient is individual and his pain barrier may vary. For the more sensitive patients, a local anesthetic is applied.

How many procedures might be required?

It depends on the human body, its condition, the stage of the disease and many external circumstances, the best prognosis can only be determined by the doctor during the consultation. The standard recommended course of PRP therapy is 3 procedures (injections) performed at 1 month intervals. It is not strongly recommended to narrow the procedure to less than 3 weeks. PRP therapy can only be used for blood that has just been taken, so no additional blood is taken and stored in a clinic during one visit.

What special preparation is needed before the procedure?

You should not take aspirin and other blood substitutes - Plavix, Omega-3, Vitamin C - for three days before the procedure. after the injection you cannot engage in active physical activity - exercise, rooms or the like. This is especially important in patients who have had a Cellular Matrix injected into their joints. After the procedure, the problem area should be allowed to rest. A week after the procedure, the patient should avoid UV rays, do not go to rooms with high temperatures (saunas, saunas). When you register for a doctor's visit, bring the results of the problem site research (if any) to the consultation.

Who is not eligible for this procedure?

Since Cellular Matrix is a component of the patient's own blood, there have been no signs of allergic reactions or other rejection, but hypersensitivity to the hyaluronic acid itself may be increased. In such cases, the procedure can be performed using a standard PRS methodology. Other contraindications:

  • Blood clotting disorders;
  • Severe immune system disorders or systemic septicemia, acute infection;
  • Malignant tumors with haematological or bone involvement, metastasis;
  • Rheumatoid arthritis, lupus;
  • Anemia (anemia);
  • Platelet count less than 100,000 / ul;
  • During acute infections / illnesses.
